FAQ’s – Learning Minds

Learning Minds provides small group tuition (maximum 4 students per class) for students in kindergarten to year 7, who need extra support or who require extension in English and Mathematics. The small group sessions also prepare children for NAPLAN, OC class placements and selective school preparation.

Individual private tuition is also available for children in K-7. The School Readiness Program, Reading Bee classes and Number Bee classes are suitable for children who are starting kindergarten the following year (aged 4-5 years).

Learning is lifelong and we all strive to provide the very best education for our children. Our primary school tutors ensure any learning that has been missed in English and Mathematics will be covered and taught in detail, to ensure understanding and close the gap – so your child does not fall further behind in their learning.

If you feel your child is not achieving their full potential at school due to the large class sizes of 25-30 plus students, our primary school tutors can provide reassurance that your child is maximising their learning and being extended in literacy and/or numeracy. Your child will feel confident in asking questions and seeking clarification. Our qualified infant and primary educators make all the difference in providing a fun, interactive learning environment for your child which caters for their specific learning needs.

At Learning Minds Tuition, we have experienced and fully qualified teachers with a degree in Education. We care to make a difference in your child’s learning. Whether your child is having difficulties in a specific area or whether they need to be challenged, our primary school tutors will ensure their learning needs are met by providing a free assessment and devising an individualised program. This fun, interactive and creative approach is inspiring for students of all levels and ability to reach their full potential.

Reading Bee began in 2012 with only 4 preschool students in a class, which ensured a personalised approach with individual attention. The feedback has been incredible.

Being a small family business, Joanna Staikos (founder of Reading Bee) has ensured the quality and high standard of teaching makes a difference to children starting school and beginning to read and write. We offer a FREE trial and 100% of our students have joined after one lesson and completed the program to the end of the year.

Absolutely! Classes are fun, interactive and incorporate the new national curriculum for Early Stage 1 to Kindergarten. Many children have benefited from the Reading Bee Program and over 90% of our enrolments are from recommendations. Not only do children learn reading and writing skills but children build confidence, and improve their concentration and listening skills. It also provides a strong foundation for when students start school. The lessons are highly individualised and motivating to foster a love of learning from a young age, in a relaxed environment.

At Reading Bee we aim to inspire, inquire and imagine!

For the preschool Reading Bee Classes, weekly home readers and a phonics book should be brought to each lesson in their folder.

No. You may drop your child off and their teacher will ensure a safe learning environment. You will need to return 5 minutes before the end of the lesson to take your child home. Cafés are nearby where you can sit and relax or enjoy your grocery shopping..

At Learning Minds, only the highest quality resources have been hand-picked to ensure learning success. The latest resources reflect the Australian Curriculum. Literacy and numeracy games provide a fun approach to learning through collaboration and generating effective discussion.

In our preschool Reading Bee Classes, Big Books (fiction and non-fiction) are specifically selected for shared reading. Individual readers are carefully selected for literacy circle time. (Just like at big school!)

As some children may suffer from allergies, classrooms are a food-free zone.
