These groups focus on literacy or numeracy and have a maximum of 4 students per class, in order to ensure quality individualised learning. Our English tutors and Maths tutors focus on engaging students in a fun, interactive, language-rich environment with explicit teaching. Literacy Groups

Our Literacy Groups focus on:

Numeracy Groups

Our Numeracy Groups focus on:

  • Numbers and algebra

Whole numbers, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals, patterns and algebra

  • Measurement and geometry

Length, area, volume and capacity, mass, time, 3D and 2D space, angles, position

  • Statistics and probability

Data, chance

  • Problem solving

The aim of our Numeracy Groups Years K-7 is to:

  • Be confident in mathematics, while able to investigate, represent and interpret situations in their personal and everyday life
  • Develop a strong foundation in the understanding of mathematical concepts and processes, and be able to solve problems and reason in numbers and algebra, measurement and geometry, and statistics and probability
  • Find enjoyment and recognise mathematics as an important aspect of lifelong learning.

NAPLAN Preparation

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is an annual assessment program for students in years 3, 5, 7 and 9. NAPLAN tests the sorts of skills that are essential for every child to progress through school and life..

The four areas tested are:
• Reading
• Writing
• Language Conventions (spelling, grammar, punctuation)
• Numeracy

NAPLAN tests skills in literacy and numeracy that are developed over time through the school curriculum.

OC, Selective Schools Preparation
and Overseas Entrance Exams

At Learning Minds Tuition, we prepare children for opportunity class placements and selective school entrance tests. Our extensive use of quality resources and past tests are incorporated in our lessons. Through explicit instruction from our teachers, complex concepts are taught step-by-step to ensure understanding.

Individual Private Tuition

Individual private tuition is suitable for children who are at primary school in K-7. This private 45-minute session is designed to meet the child’s specific learning needs in literacy or numeracy. A FREE assessment is required by a qualified and experienced primary teacher in order to implement a suitable program to accelerate student learning. The program is revised on a weekly basis to ensure learning success.
